    I'm a big fan of the dog chilling on the couch the entire video :) Also trophies/achievements on Nintendo consoles would be awesome! I would start collecting them immediately! I would love straight up remasters of ds era pokemon games, not even remakes just the exact same game on switch, thats the dream

    Good idea for a vid. Game I’ve dropped : death stranding, starfield, destiny, any of the assassins creed games. When it stops being fun and become a a chore… I drop and don’t feel bad about it.

    If the Switch 2 lets me send a friends request to KingdomHeartsBoy, thats all i need. I really can't ask for much more than you have here! Give me friends lists, good shopping music, personality, achivements and im happy. My bigger vision is that I wish Nintendo would split their handheld and console lines again. The Switch did well as a mix but i think we've lost the true spirit of handheld gaming and those types of smaller more experimental games as a result. What im saying is, we have to go back...

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE День назад

      We have to go back indeed! "This is Nintendo's destiny!" as John Locke would say! I completely agree about the split between handheld/console. More bite sized games like Attack of the Friday Monsters or even stuff like HarmoKnight wouldn't feel right on Switch, but were perfect for 3DS. Not to mention features like StreetPass. I'd do just about anything to bring back the puzzle piece collecting, but I'm not stuffing the Switch in my pocket so we're going to need a smaller handheld 😅 Thanks for watching, Blink!

    I am really hoping that Nintendo will give us Wii and 3DS features on the Switch Successor like Streetpass, Streetpass Mii plaza and all those Wii channels. It would be amazing if they did.😊

      I completely agree! The 3DS came out just before I left for my freshman year of college, so taking it to school and walking around campus, I was CONSTANTLY street passing other people. I'll never forget how great it was between classes seeing so many other people on the 3DS, getting puzzle pieces via Street Pass or just playing games. Adding a feature like that and the Wii channels to the Switch successor would be amazing. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Star Fox would be another fantastic game. I never played the Wii U game, but didn't hear great things. I remember Star Fox Assualt getting a lot of criticism when it released, but I got it for my birthday that year and I remember I couldn't put the game down during my birthday party 😂 Thankfully it had multiplayer so I could play with friends lol Honestly I'd love if Star Fox came back and it was a mix of Assault + Adventure.

    • @dr.metroid6119
      @dr.metroid6119 День назад

      @RE-LOOIE Star Fox Assault and Adventures are really some of the best in the series! Especially Assault!!! I know people complain about the main campaign being too short, and the graphics took two steps back from Adventures, but the blend of vehicle combat and on foot exploration was amazing! The multiplayer is something that I still go back to now and then due to how fun it is! Unfortunately, Zero was a HUGE disappointment..... It was just a short SF 64-like game with weird gyro controls and too many tower defense missions. Starfox Starlink on Switch was actually a step in the right direction, They need to take the open world planet hopping gameplay and add Assault's vehicle and on foot swapping mechanics.

    Before people roast me in the comments. I understand that you can create a Username/Nickname with your Nintendo account. As I understand it today, though, you can't search for that ID when trying to add new friends (unless they are "local" to you). My intent with that first console feature idea is simplifying Usernames to be more in line with Gamertags/PSN IDs. Please understand 😅

    Ni no kuni was such a chore to get through because i despise the battle mechanics too but the art and story was beautiful so i forced myself to finish it. • @jonathansantiago5327
    @jonathansantiago5327 20 дней назад

    My take on Breath of the Wild, and any game one is having a hard time picking back up: if you need to convince yourself to do so, then it’s not important to you now; play something else. My experience with BotW is that every shrine blended itself into repetition over and over again in order to even have enough stamina and heart; and my excuse was that I was going to have fun once I prepared myself enough; and it became this massive shore of boredom, for me… I dropped it before the fight with Ganon. It is a great game; it has great mechanics; the story is awesome, but this experience is not The Legend of Zelda for me.

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE 20 дней назад

      That's such a great callout. That's the approach I'm kind of taking. Until I really get the itch to go back, I'm just allowing it to comfortably sit in the backlog. I remember when I played Ghost of Tsushima for the first time, I felt like I had to almost force myself to keep playing during those earlier hours. I just wasn't in the mood for that kind of game when it launched, but went back to it months later when I was in the mood to play it and it ended up becoming my GOTY in 2020. Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it!

    I recently completed Tamarin, one of many games I've been inspired to pick up because of your podcast 😀 I enjoyed it for the most part but because of the lack of a map, i wont be returning to it. The game did really take me by surprise though! I did not expect guns 😂 Another game ive been playing is Eastward. I'm not far from the end and ive really enjoyed the story. The gameplay is fairly basic and it is a little dialogue heavy but the music & story more than make up for that 😀 Next up will be Dragon Quest XI! My second DQ game and I'm so excited to get into it! Did you ever go back to it?

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE 27 дней назад

      I don't blame you at all for not finishing Tamarin lol As much as I love the game, a lack of a world map + the inability to fast travel between areas is infuriating. I think my last 2 hrs with the game was searching EVERY area of the game for 1-2 remaining collectibles for the Platinum. The game has SO much charm though and really does feel like an N64-era 3D Platformer. I'm glad you gave it a chance! Eastward has been on my radar for a while, so I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it! I'm sure I'll get around to picking it up eventually🙂 Dragon Quest XI is a darn near perfect JRPG in my eyes. It looks BEAUTIFUL, has an excellent cast of characters, and all the signature gameplay you'd expect from Dragon Quest. I just wish the game wasn't so long 😅 I'd still like to go back to it eventually, but it will probably be a while with DQ3 HD right around the corner. I really hope you enjoy it, though, it's a journey worth taking for sure!

  • @Deeteeass
    @Deeteeass Месяц назад

    There's three games left from this year's lineup that I'm definitely getting. Those being TLoZ: Echoes of Wisdom, DQ III and Mario & Luigi Brothership! I'll have to wait until my birthday in December to get into DQ as my missus is buying it for me but I'll 100% be getting into Brothership day one 😀 The Mario & Luigi series is up there with my favourites of all time so to have a new game after all this time is a dream come true! I need to make sure I play & beat Paper Jam before the new one releases, as I'm yet to experience that one.

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE Месяц назад

      That's an excellent trio of games for sure! I'm not planning to get Echoes of Wisdom right away, but I think my preference for Zelda games is more containable, smaller experiences. Even games like Twilight Princess and Wind Waker seem so much more appealing to me than the MASSIVE adventures of BotW and TotK right now. I'll get around to picking it up someday! Mario & Luigi Brothership looks fantastic, though. I'm a bit behind on the M&L series, but I was there day 1 with Superstar Saga on GBA and absolutely adored that game. I'm glad the series is still going strong!! And you KNOW I'll be there day 1 for Dragon Quest III :)

    The big one for me is Final Fantasy VII. I originally bought the game on PS3 and didnt get very far. I bought it again on Switch years later hoping that it would grab me the second time around and got out of Midgar but soon after I dropped it again. I really dont know why but I just can't seem to commit to it 😅 I've never really liked the look of PS1 games but I am by no means a graphics snob! Maybe I should just go for the remake when I eventually get a PS5 and the full release is out 🤔 Great video as always Rusty! Pokémon Sun was the worst IMO! Too many tutorials 🤦‍♀️

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE Месяц назад

      I can actually relate with the original Final Fantasy VII as well! I remember getting a used copy when I was about 9 or 10 (shortly before I played Kingdom Hearts for the first time), but I just didn't understand the game's mechanics as a kid. I wish I would have played it when I was about 14 or 15 because that could have kickstarted my love for RPGs sooner, but I think my love of RPGs was always meant to start with Kingdom Hearts 1! Many games on the PS1 have not aged well, whether graphically or the controls, so I can't blame you there. I think playing the Remake Trilogy is the way to go at this point, and then maybe some day curiosity will strike again and you can go back to the original. They've done such a fantastic job with Remake and Rebirth, so I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts when you get around to them, Dana! Thanks for watching as always!!

    I have a fondness for the magazine for sure but even bigger of a bummer is just what GIs end means in the big picture. Sad to see one of the last holdouts of the 2000s era gaming going away. That was time when the industry was figuring itself out, podcasts were just coming to be, YT was either non-existent or early days, and game releases all had this kind of unique enthusiasm and excitement. The era of the midnight launch and E3 live shows and early digital storefronts. The modern era of gaming has so much to love, but no denying I'll miss those earlier times.. and I'm thankful for GI being a part of it and along with me for that time. I'm glad they held out as long as they did, they certainly can be proud of their legacy

    • @RE-LOOIE

      There's so much GI and everyone who worked there can be proud of, no doubt! I think some of (a lot of 😅) my nostalgia for the Wii/360/PS3/DS era came out quite a bit in this video, but it was during that era where I read GI the most. I really would pour over each page and read through each magazine so many times. Such an exciting time for games indeed, and everything surrounding it (RUclips, newer gaming podcasts, etc.). You're absolutely right, though, there are so many amazing things about games today...I'm just so nostalgic for the Wii shop weekly releases, cheevo hunting, and long Rock Band sessions with friends, Blink 😭

    Cuz you need to finish BOTW. That's the game that jump started me to get back into gaming. If you just do the main story/missions it doesnt take that long but knowing you you'll want to do all the side missions as well. Lol. I would finish BOTW before playing TOTK because of the story.

    Great pickups there Rusty! I borrowed Sonic Frontiers from my brother in February and to my surprise, ended up enjoying it enough to get the platinum 😅 I used to enjoy the likes of Sonic Adventure 1&2 when I was young but I cant stand them now. I still think Sonic belongs in 2D but Frontiers was a really nice surprise and the soundtrack is great!

    First time ever seeing you but loved the vid, I remember when I was a kid playing Fable 2 and being able to buy parts of the game at a time with 800 Microsoft points each part 😂 had to beg to get the next part from my mom. Good times, the Fable series will forever be some of my favorite games of all time

      Thanks a ton, I really appreciate the kind words! What a timely comment too with the recent closure of the Xbox 360 Marketplace. What a time it was when we didn't spend "real money", but 400 to 800 Microsoft points to download games off the XBLA or buy DLC in games lol I don't think I ever purchased anything in Fable 2 like that back in the day, but my goodness what a game that was. Doesn't hold up too terribly well nowadays, but I'll never forget my time running through Albion back then with my little dog. Exploring that world brought me so much joy. Here's hoping the new Fable game exceeds all of our expectations! Thanks again for watching!

    Great video Rusty! I really should check out Easy Come Easy Golf. I may not be a fan of watching golf but those arcade style golf games hit the spot. I recently finished World of Final Fantasy and slowly chipping away at Nintendo World Championships and Mario and Sonic at the 2020 Olympics in spirit of the Paris Olympics happening right now. I look forward to hearing how you achieve your gaming goals this year. :)

      I hope you do end up checking out Easy Come Easy Golf! I play it nearly ever day now, even if it's just a quick round of 9 holes. So much fun and it really is the perfect pick up and play game. World of Final Fantasy has been sitting in my backlog for a while! I played for a few hours and really enjoyed the seemingly relaxing nature of the game. I've seen it compared to Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon recently, so blending that with all kinds of Final Fantasy characters/creatures in a turn-based RPG sounds like a great time to me! Thanks so much for watching and commenting, it's greatly appreciated!

    Great video Rusty, you’re kind of selling me on that golf game. I might have to try it out! I love the Fable series but I’ve never actually seen 1 or 2 through to completion. I have, however, started over Fable 1 more times than I can count, so that little girl saying “Rosie” is permanently etched into my mind.

      You should give Easy Come Easy Golf a try for sure, especially since the price is only $20. I'd also highly recommend Everybody's Golf on PS4 (you can probably get it for super cheap as well). They're great pick up and play games for short bursts or longer play sessions...and can become quite addicting lol On the Fable side of things though, Fable Anniversary can be tough to go back to. I should have mentioned it in the video, but like I discussed in Discord, I ran into a number of game crashes that caused me to lose hrs of progress, including a glitch in the game that locked me out of the final quest. A common issue that was never patched out of the game (lost 2 hrs of progress that time). I think you're much better off restarting Fable 2 or 3 at this point, but it was still a good time to play the original to completion...even if the game didn't seem to want me to roll credits 😅 Thanks for watching, Zach!

    Can I just tell you I was thinking about going back to Mario Golf Super Rush. It didn’t win me over when it was release but I’ve been itching to play an arcade golf game. Once I heard you talking about Easy Come Easy Golf I bought it off of the eshop! Loved the Hot Shot games (golf and tennis) and Everybody’s Golf so it didn’t take much to convince me 😂. Looking forward to more of these types of videos. It’s always fun to see what people are playing!!

It's pretty amazing what Capcom has done for RE in the past decade or so, especially considering how poorly things like RE6 and Operation Raccoon City were received. I never got around to playing Radiant Historia but it looked like the Chrono Trigger of the DS era for sure. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, it's greatly appreciated!

    I took months to get used to BOTW, and then entire weeks to just grasp the game mechanics. My motivation was to make it story driven, to focus on the memories (I played in Spanish first time, then tried a second time in English). Then the beasts. An in both BOTW and TOTK, it is ok to try and see if we can bare the difficulty or prepare more. I spent so many hours preparing stuff like upgrades and potions, it turned out I over did the preparations for a bit. Also, please, play TOTK once you beat BOTW, personal recommendation as I love TLOZ, and still feel overwhelmed with both massive interconnected games.

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE Месяц назад

      So many folks have commented about their approach to playing BotW, and it really is amazing to see all of the different ways people play the game. I know I'll have to find my own unique rhythm, but focusing on the memories you're creating while playing + the story is a great way to go about it! I'm sure it'll be a LONG time before I roll credits on both BotW and TotK, but I certainly hope to do it someday. Thanks for sharing your experience and checking out my video!

  • @GetSchanked

    Hey, great list, man. Super impressive! I'm kind of in the same boat you mentioned you were in early in the video where what games I play are primarily or, at the very least, secondarily based on the trophy list. I still play games I want to really play, but I do find myself pushing off longer, grindier games like RDR2 simply because of what the platinum requires... A positive impact that trophy hunting has had on my choice of games to play is that it has introduced me to some amazing shorter games to plat like What Remains of Edith Finch, Stray, and the Spyro trilogy. I'm also struggling with prioritizing completing unfinished games on my playstation games list (dating back 12 years) vs. playing newer games that I really want to play. I feel like my platinum trophy hunting habit is slowly evolving into increasing my overall game game and trophy completion percentage.. Anyways, I'm overall happy with hunting for trophies, but I do need to let go a little and just play the games I really want to play, like you mentioned. Thanks again for the great vid!

    • @RE-LOOIE
      @RE-LOOIE Месяц назад

      I think finding that healthy balance for each individual person is key. I know my trophy hunting looks quite a bit different from others nowadays and my "all in" on trophies days are behind me, but I still enjoy a good trophy hunt/grind every once in a while. It's a HUGE positive impact if it means you ended up playing great games like Stray and Spyro (some of my personal favorites)! That's one of the many special things about this hobby. Whether you're doing a deep dive on a particular genre, trophy hunting, or exploring more of a console library than you have before, you're still discovering a greater joy for games over time. That's still a win in my book! Best of luck on all of your future trophy collecting endeavors, I really appreciate you tuning into the video and sharing your perspective!

    Sun & Moon and their evolution games in Ultra Sun&Moon are actually great games if you can overlook the fact that there are no arenas. And those games are actually challenging if you are not overleveling like an idiot :D I mean X&Y whould be great games if the inlineskates weren't that annoying and the game actually being hard. But no gym has more than three Pkmn and the whole elite 4 has only 4 Pkmn each. At least the champ got a full team of 6 but all in all X&Y are the weakest games in the main line series. And i'm still upset because I'm sure an game Z could have solved those issues...

    I played Pokemon Moon, and while I was enjoying it to some extent (toucannon is one of the most fun pokemon I've ever had on a team) I just wasn't really into it after a while. I know generally where I left off, and I was having a lot of fun with it at the time, but something really made me put it down... and I think it might have been that I was just done with Pokemon. I just feel like it jumped the shark ages ago. I still like certain Pokemon, but really wish things could just be simpler with it. For example, I think a great direction Pokemon could go and hasn't is the cozy game direction. What would be more fun than a game about living alongside Pokemon out in the country, growing your own berries, vegetables, herbs, cooking with them, selling them; having Pokemon help you, catching Pokemon to help the other townspeople, even having an interactive element with other random players (or just keep it contained in the game like Rune Factory) with a "county fair" where you have your crops or dishes you've cooked or Pokemon judged... etc etc. That's what it would take to get me to come back to Pokemon, I think.
